Shakespeare Festival Comes to Campus
September 8-10 & 15-17 – Cal Poly Pomona is working with local professional actors to develop the inaugural "Southern California Shakespeare Festival" in Cal Poly Pomona’s Studio Theater. The festival features performances of two early Shakespearean plays: romantic comedy Two Gentlemen of Verona from Sept. 8-17 and historical drama King John from Sept. 22-Oct. 2. Read more...

How are entrepreneurs made? Cal Poly Pomona alumna Martha Daniel might have an interesting answer to that question. After all, she was awarded the Living History Maker Entrepreneur Award from Wells Fargo and Turning Point magazine in 2004 and was inducted into the National Association of Women Business Owners Hall of Fame in 2001. Daniel also earned a master's of business administration from the University of La Verne. She has come a long way from her sheltered childhood in Memphis, Tennessee, and is proud of being the first in her family to graduate from college. Read more...

University Moves Up in America's Best Colleges Rankings
Cal Poly Pomona improved its rankings in the newly released 2006 edition of Americas Best Colleges by U.S. News & World Report. The university moved up one notch to tie for 4th on the list of Top Public Universities-Masters in the Western United States, which features public universities offering a full range of undergraduate and master's programs. Among both public and private universities, it moved up four spaces to 31st in Best Universities-Masters (by Region), placing in the top tier of Western universities with undergraduate and masters programs. California Restaurant Association Educational Foundation Honors Collins School
The California Restaurant Association Educational Foundation (CRAEF) honored the Collins School of Hospitality Management with its coveted Foundation Award at the 2005 Hall of Fame award dinner on Aug. 20 in Santa Monica. Read more...

The California State University Aids Students Affected by Hurricane Katrina
In an effort to assist college students displaced by Hurricane Katrina, the California State University this fall will admit students from Gulf Coast area colleges, as well as California students who had planned to attend a college in that region. Read more...

Professors Examine Transit-Oriented Development in California
Urban & Regional Planning professors have released a study funded by a Caltrans transportation grant called "Travel Characteristics of Transit-Oriented Development in California." Cal Poly Pomona's Hollie Lund and Richard Willson partnered with UC Berkeley's Robert Cervero along with undergraduate and graduate students to review the statewide transportation trend. Bronco Golf Classic Nets $63,000 for Scholarships
Alumni and supporters of Cal Poly Pomona's athletics program enjoyed the 26th annual Bronco Golf Classic, held on June 27 at the South Hills Country Club in West Covina. The sold-out tournament, which is the main scholarship fundraiser for Cal Poly Pomona athletics, featured Bronco student-athletes as caddies. Read more... 

Extended University Fall Courses
The fall quarter schedule of courses from the College of the Extended University is now available. The Bulletin features ongoing courses in business writing, human resource management, computer training, fundraising and grant writing for nonprofits, construction management and much more. In addition, several new programs are highlighted including notary training, youth workshops in the digital arts and a series of wine tasting seminars.
