Luther Kwok ’90, The Collins School of Hospitality Management

Luther Kwok is one of many alumni who also answered the call to come back and support their alma mater. As a longtime employee of the Panda Restaurant Group, Inc., he is looking forward to participating in what is slated to be become “a one-of-a-kind event.“ 

Kwok’s experience at Cal Poly Pomona in the late ‘80s gave him a solid theoretical foundation, as well as hands-on training and practice, which were supported by the life experience of the faculty at The Collins School of Hospitality Management.  For Kwok, the opportunity to give back to the program that he graduated from is gratifying.

It is all about “giving back to my alma mater and to be able to promote the Panda brand,” he says. 

Kwok truly enjoys the ever-changing, fast-paced environment that the restaurant industry provides. When it comes to dispensing advice to students, Kwok offers the following words of wisdom: “You must have a passion for customer service, interacting with strangers, and be enthusiastic while working unsociable hours.”
